Improving qualities of life for the elders is getting more important since the mean living age is getting
higher. Golf is considered one of the best sports for seniors to improve their health. However, many
people are hesitant to participate due to cost and other reasons. Hence, this study investigates the
motivation of participating in golf for seniors to activate golf for seniors' sports-for-all. For this purpose,
targeting 60 and older people practicing golf as a sports-for-all and a survey and interview was conducted.
The results of the survey and interview show that seniors participating in golf feel as if they gain a high
motivation to further gain a more healthy state in their mental health and every-day life. Furthermore, they
state that they can meet various people and share conversations by participating golf. However, despite the
positive aspects discussed during the interview, seniors also mentioned that there is an economic burden
from playing golf.
