Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of oral health self efficacy on oral health promotion
lifestyle and to analyze related factors. Methods: This survey was conducted from March 2 to March 15, 2017, high
school students in Suwon were asked to explain the purpose and content of the research, and then they were asked to
participate in the questionnaire survey. 192 of them were used as the final research analysis data except for one witㅇh
a large number of missing values. Results: There were statistically significant differences in oral health self efficacy and
oral health promotion lifestyle according to gender and academic performance (p<.05). The gender showed that the oral
health promotion lifestyle was higher than the female and the oral health promotion lifestyle was lower in the group with
the highest academic achievement than the other groups. The results showed that oral health related self efficacy correlated
with oral health promotion lifestyle (p<.05). The higher the oral health self efficacy, the higher the score of oral
health promotion lifestyle. Conclusion: In order to increase the practice rate of oral health promoting behaviors of youth, it
is necessary to make concrete oral health environment and concrete oral health promotion plan should be developed. In
addition, it is considered that there should be repeated research on adolescents with various characteristics about these
factors.
