The purpose of this study is to analyze the research articles on successful aging in Korea. The data for analysis were the articles published in professional journals in the period of 2000s. The contents included measurements, constituents, factors affecting successful aging, types of successful aging among the Korean elderly. The results were as follows. The measurements of successful aging for Korean elderly were invented. The successful aging contains multidimensional aspects, including biological, psychological, and social dimensions. The important factors affecting successful aging were health, income, presence of the spouse, and social participation. The types of successful aging among the Korean elderly depend on (1) whether family-oriented relationships or social-oriented relationships, (2) whether the elderly have or have not the factors for successful aging such as maintenance of physical, financial, cognitive, and social functions. The implications and recommendations for the future research were discussed.
