The purpose of this study is to find practical implications for
multicultural adolescents’ school adjustment, by analyzing the
mediating effects of social withdrawal and depression on the effects
of parents’ neglect on multicultural adolescents’ school adjustment.
For this, using the fifth-year data of Multi-Cultural Adolescent
Panel Survey by the National Youth Policy Institute, it was
analyzed targeting total 1,348 people through the structural
equation modeling. In the results of study, parents’ neglect had
direct effects on multicultural adolescents’ school adjustment while
both social withdrawal and depression partially showed mediating
effects. In the path of having effects of parents’ neglect on
multicultural adolescents’ school adjustment, social withdrawal
and depression were mediated in order. Based on the study
results, intervention and practice implications for multicultural
adolescents’ school adjustment were suggested.
