China Which claimed to stand for the reform and openness policy, pushed
the economic reforms from the planned economic system to the socialistic
market economic system, achieved it's rapid economic growth rate of an
annual about 10 percent. But the reform policy created the new problems,
including the deficit and bankruptcy of state-owned corporations, the rapid
increase of unemployment, the problem of poverty, the increase of
inequality between the high and low income brackets, the difference of the
standard of living between the city and the country, eventually brought
about fundamental changes in the traditional social security system in China
This study aims at enhancing our understanding of the social security
system in China, by perceiving the basic background of the social security
system reform, organizing the change process, and examining it's subject
and prospect from now on.
