This study was intending to analyze the influence of a child-care teacher’s character on happiness and
to look into whether resilience mediates the relationship between a child-care teacher’s character and
happiness. To this end, this study conducted a survey using character, happiness and resilience scale
targeting 137 teachers working at child-care centers located in Gyeonggi-do region; in addition, this study
looked into the correlation to examine the relationship between major variables on the basis of collected
data. Also, this study conducted the hierarchical analysis according to 3-phased procedures of the mediated
effect verification in order to verify whether resilience produces a mediated effect in the relationship
between a child-care teacher’s character and happiness. This study’s result is as follows: First, it was found that a child-care teacher’s character showed a positive correlation with happiness and resilience while
happiness showed a positive correlation with resilience. Second, resilience in the relationship between a
child-care teacher’s character and happiness was found to do full mediation. Summing up the above results,
this study found that in case of a child-care teacher, the higher the character level, the higher the
happiness level as well, and that resilience does mediation in the process of moving to happiness from
character.
