Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of teaching efficacy of elementary school
teachers on burnout. As well, the mediating effect of school climate was explored. Method: 250 elementary
school teachers were asked to complete the questionnaires on teaching efficacy, burnout, and school climate.
Results: First, the level of teaching efficacy, burnout, and school climate was positive. Second, there were
statistically significant effects of teaching efficacy of elementary school teachers on school climate, and school
climate on burnout. However, there was no significant effect of teaching efficacy on burnout. At the same time,
the mediating effect of school climate was identified. Conclusion: Based on these results, the practical strategies
to form the ideal school climate and culture to low the level of burnout of elementary school teachers were
suggested.
