This study was designed to qualitatively examine the inner experiences of Youth Companion Program which
adolescent delinquents were ordered to attend. This study also will look into how the program has influenced
prevention of repeated crimes by adolescent delinquents and successful return to normal social life. In order to
analyze the experiences of Youth Companion Program this study focused on examining the curriculum for
counseling courses, notes taken by the leader of the counseling program during sessions, and the counseling sheet
completed by the subjects. The subjects of the study were seven adolescent delinquents who were ordered as a
punishment for a crime to attend the Youth Companion Program. The data were analysed qualitatively based on
the contents analysis method. The results were as follows Firstly, the adolescent delinquents under probation were
ordered to attend the counseling courses as they had committed a crime or delinquency. Secondly, the adolescent
delinquents who were ordered to attend the counseling programs tend to accept such programs as punishment.
Moreover, they tend to have negative feelings about the program. However, The study finds that the adolescents
have regretted the wrongdoings they had done through the individually tailored integrated services,
multi-systematic viewpoints, on-the-spot guidance in the field, and outreach service provided for them of Youth
Companion Program and have experienced seeking for specific ways to resolve by facing problems without
avoiding. This study qualitatively examined experiences of the Youth Companion Program which adolescent
delinquents were ordered to attend as part of preventing repeated crimes. It is meaningful to examine whether
the Youth Companion Program effective in preventing of repeated crimes and in rehabilitating the adolescent
