The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of the hope enhancement program on the learned-helplessness
of children – if it effects on their ego-resilience and school adjustment. Test for the ego-resilience and school
adjustment were performed in a pre and post design in order to verify the effectiveness of the program.
Covariance (ANCOVA) was conducted to verify the hypothesis of the study, using SPSS/ WIN 21.0. The
results of the study are as follows: First, the experimental group who participated in the hope enhancement
Program changed their ego-resilience to be better than the control group who did not participate in the
program. Second, the experimental group improved school adjustment more than the control group.
Therefore, the program seems effective to improve ego-resilience and school adjustment for the learned-helplessness
of children.
