The purpose of this study is to examine whether resilience mediatesin the relationship between meaning in life
and subjective well - being of low - income middle - aged adults. For this purpose, 410 respondents from 6
vocational rehabilitation centers in Gwang-ju city completed the questionnaires on the meaning of life, subjective
well - being, and resilience. In order to investigate the relationship between the main variables of collected data,
correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted using SPSS program. In order to investigat
the mediating effect of resilience in the relationship between meaning of life and subjective well – being, Sobel
test was performed. The main results revealed that the meaning of life in low - income middle - aged adults
has a statistically significant effect on resilience and subjective well - being. Also, resilience played a mediating
role in the effect of life meaning on subjective well - being. Based on the results of this study, suggestions for
future research and implications were discussed.
