본 연구에서는 보육교사가 인식하는 영유아 권리에 대한 중요성과 어린이집의 하루 일과를 중심으 로 이루어지는 영유아 권리존중 보육 실천력을 살펴보고자 한다. 연구대상은 J도 G시의 보육교사 400 명으로, 연구도구로는 이명순(2012), 최은숙(2013)의 연구에서 사용된 질문지를 사용하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 보육교사가 인식하는 영유아 권리에 대한 중요도와 어린이집의 하루 일과에서 영유아의 권리를 존중하는 보육 실천력은 모두 높은 편이었고, 두 변인 간에 차이는 없었다. 둘째, 보육교사가 인식하 는 영유아 권리에 대한 중요도는 전문대 졸업 교사가 4년제 졸업이상의 교사보다, 영아반 담당교사가 유아반 담당교사보다 영유아의 권리를 더욱 중요하게 인식하고 있었다. 셋째, 보육교사가 실천하는 영유아 권리존중 보육 실천력은 비지원시설에 근무하는 보육교사가 지원시설에 근무하는 보육교사보 다, 영아반 담당교사가 유아반 담당교사보다 영유아 권리존중 보육을 더욱 우수하게 실천하고 있었다. 이러한 결과는 본 연구가 이루어진 G시가 추구하는 아동친화도시 조성에 필요한 영유아 권리존중 매 뉴얼을 개발하는데 근거자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
This research study examines the importance of children’s rights that are perceived by a childcare teacher and the extent to which childcare that respects the rights of children is provided according to the everyday teaching curriculum at daycare centers. The findings were as follow: First, when examining both the importance of children’s rights that are perceived by a childcare teacher and also the extent to which childcare that respects the rights of children is provided according to the everyday teaching curriculum at daycare centers, both factors were confirmed to be high without a significant difference between the two factors. Second, childcare teachers that completed 2 year college degrees had a higher perception regarding the importance of the rights of the children when compared to that of a childcare teacher that had completed a 4 year university degree. Third, childcare teachers that worked at non-subsidized institutions showed a higher level of respect when providing daycare education when compared to childcare teachers that worked at subsidized institutions and that childcare teachers that instructed children’s classrooms when compared to childcare teachers that instructed children classrooms showed a higher level of respect when providing daycare education.
