The purpose of this study was to examine the perception of pre-service teachers about the music
education course in the university of education. It was to analyze the characteristics of the music education
area viewed from the practical aspect of teacher education, using the value of study about worth
learning and the easiness of study as learning easy. For this purpose, we conducted a self-report
questionnaire consisting of 24 questions for 91 students who were taking to music education classes at G
university. In addition, a focus group interview (FGI) was conducted for eight students to further
understand the results of the survey. As a result, there was a difference in perception of learning value and
ease, and in particular, there was a characteristic difference in areas such as history, philosophy, pedagogy,
and sociology. On the basis of the above results, there is a need that the music education classes consist
of contents with a high transition to the actual school site, content more directly related to the elementary school class, contents with high relevance to the school field and teacher appointment test.
