The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of self growth program group counseling on
self - efficacy, interpersonal relationship and self - esteem of adolescent middle school students. To do this,
we conducted self growth program group counseling on 10 experimental group and 10 control group among
the 3rd grade 20 students of J middle school in B city. The group counseling was carried out total 10
times, 60 minutes per session and pre & post-test was implemented. Data were analyzed by the Mann-Whitney U test. The results of the study show the effects of self growth program group counseling
on enhancing self-efficacy, interpersonal relationship, and self-esteem. In addition, there was the significant
difference of self-efficacy, interpersonal relationship, and self-esteem in the experimental group who
participated in self growth program group counseling compared to the control group who did not take part
in it.
These results suggest that self growth program group counseling aiming at middle school students
during adolescence may have a positive effect on enhancing self-efficacy, interpersonal relationship and
self-esteem.
