The purpose of this study is to discuss the implications of socially engaged art education through analysis
of urban regeneration through socially engaged art which induces active participation of others in problem
solving process. To this end, I examined the concept of socially engaged art and art education value, and
examined the case of urban regeneration through art. Based on this, I analyzed the case of Art Alleys
project. As a result, Art Alleys is a socially engaged art project, suggesting the possibility of urban regeneration
through improvement of community environment, improvement of quality of life through provision
of art space and experience, improvement of environment and population activation and economic
revitalization. Variation and induction of continuous participation were the main success factors.
