This research is conducted in order to verify an influence of stress and depression, experienced by
adults person with disability, on suicidal ideation. The data is collected from 160 subjects, above 30 years
of age with disability through snowball sampling, residing in Yeoju City, Gyeonggi-Do. The results
affirmed that amongst physical, psychological, domestic and social stress, physical stress has a significant
effect on depression and suicidal ideation, and in this part, depression has a static full mediating effect on
the relationship between stress and suicidal ideation. The analysis finding showed that among physical
stress, psychological stress, family stress, and social stress, physical stress had significant influence on
depression and suicidal ideation. The total score of depression way 5 points or over in 56.9% of all the
subjects, and 18.7% of adults with disability had very severe depression symptoms. It was found that
depression had positively partial mediating effect in the relationship between stress and suicidal ideation. In
other words, suicidal ideation increased when adults with disability had a high level of stress and
depression and they were men. Based on these study results, an intervention plan was suggested for reducing stress and depression of adults with disability and improving the quality of life.
