The university faced the need for reform and change because of the social needs of accelerating the
knowledge - based society and the reflection on the deterioration of the quality of university education due
to the quantitative expansion of the university. As the 21st century approaches, the paradigm of university
education is centered on two axes: "learner-centered system" and "development of teaching capacity.” The
development of teaching capacity is a very important task for universities as it emphasizes the
competitiveness and quality improvement of universities as a core task for enhancing national
competitiveness in a sophisticated knowledge - based society.
Many universities have various kinds of teaching programs, but most of them do not properly reflect the
demands of professors, such as introductions and lectures on new teaching methods provided by teaching
and learning support centers. In order to provide a pedagogical program that reflects the needs of
professors, the diagnosis of faculty competencies should be given priority.
In this paper, we applied the diagnostic tests developed by Yang Yang - ha (2010) to the characteristics
of the case colleges and examined the development of the teaching method training program based on the
change necessity index. In the case of the pedagogical training program based on competency through
diagnostic tests, it is possible to develop a common program for strengthening the capacity of the whole
organization, and it is possible to provide a small number of customized programs by providing various
programs reflecting individual needs.
