이 연구는 특수학교(급)에서 이루어지는 수업설계활동에 대한 특수교사들의 인식 및 수행 실태를 알아보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 전국적으로 특수학교(급)에 근무 중인 교사를 대상으로 온ㆍ오프라인 설문조사가 실시되었고, 1,227명이 참여하였다. 특수교사들은 대체로 수업설계과정에서 이루어지는 거의 모든 활동을 중요하다고 생각하고 있었지만, 실제 수업설계의 각 활동을 실행하는 수준은 그들이 중요하다고 생각하는 것에 비하면 유의미하게 낮았다. 또한 특수교사들의 수업설계는 학생의 현행 수준 및 요구 분석을 시작으로 수업의 내용·목표·방법 등을 결정하는 총 6단계의 세분화된 과정을 거치며 장애학생의 다양한 요구가 반영된 특수교육의 독특한 수업설계 절차를 따랐다. 특수교사들은 수업설계를 하면서 학습 목표의 설정, 교수·학습 활동의 계획, 수업 자료의 선정 및 제작, 수업 실행, 개별화된 교수적 지원, 교육 성과의 평가, 수업 개선 노력 등에서 다양한 차원의 도전을 받고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 연구 결과를 바탕으로 특수교육 환경에서의 수업설계가 어떻게 이루어지고 있는지에 대해 분석하고 추후 연구 및 특수교육 교사 교육에 대해 논의하였다.
This study intended to explores in-service teachers' perceptions and enactment of instructional design in their teaching with students with disabilities. Total of 1227 special education teachers answered either online or offline survey developed to investigate how they perceive instructional design activities and how they actually enact it during their actual instructional planning. As a result of study, special education teachers perceive all instructional design activities as very important for enhancing student learning. However, special education teachers did not implement these activities considerably as much as they perceived. Special education teachers had challenges in managing instructional design process in terms of learning objectives, instructional activities and materials, instructional adaptation, evaluation, and teacher reflection. The implications for not only instructional design but also teacher education in special education were discussed.
