The present research investigated the quantitative and qualitative changes in work and leisure activities, especially for employees in public enterprises, since the policy of 5-day workweek was carried out in Korean society. A survey was conducted to 331 employees of one of the largest public enterprises in Korea. According to the results, the comparison between their current leisure activities and what they wish to do in future revealed the desire to increase participation in travel and sport. Also, the financial difficulty and lack of activity options were pointed as the primary obstacles to leisure participation. As expected, the percentage of leisure activities with family members were increased since 5-day workweek. Based on these finding, expansion of variety of leisure opportunities and more customer-focused leisure structure were suggested. The findings were discussed in development of future research of policy for better adjustment and expansion of 5-day workweek on our society.
