This study presents the learning community model for enhancing early childhood teacher\'s science teaching competency. To develop this model, the theoretical ground for a model was found on the basis of a review on learning community and science teacher education program. Then, 329 kindergarten teachers\' requirements of learning community for enhancing science teaching competency were investigated. This constructed model consisted of basic viewpoints and purposes, contents and methods, organization and role of participator, and operating system of learning community.
This result shows the effects in views of offering teachers opportunity for new learning, sharing leadership, and offering true collaboration with each other. It implies that the learning community can possibly resolve traditional problems which have been inherited in early childhood science teacher education.
