This study intends to explain discussion and trend of education of children with learning disabilities in Japan through an analysis of ministry of education, culture, sports, science and technology(MEXT)\'s White Paper. In Japan, since 1990, there has been a lively and public discussion on learning disabilities and their education. Today Japan picks up the road to special support education, departing from special education. This has a close relation to education of children with learning disabilities, in that special support education enlarges the existing objects of special education, including children who have learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, or high-functioning autism. This enlargement is the bottom line of special support education. Today, in Japan, MEXT put nationwide model projects into operation for improving educational supporting system for children with learning disabilities etc.
