The purpose of this study is to understand the current major policies and services to make the children manage their lives better by grasping a institutional and legal matters supporting them in a single-parent family, and to provide fundamental materials for their steady lives by dealing with the problem and the direction of a future. For this, at first, a definition and a reason of a single-parent family are suggested, and I researched about the policy of single-parent family including an object, a salary, information service system, finances and a law. Also, I investigated the present status of institutions and programs, and suggested a problem and a direction for an improvement in conducting a program and an institution for supporting the children. Accordingly, as a proposal, an economic assistance for a settled self-supporting, a job training, a supply for childcare payment, and expansion of childcare facilities are provided in order to solve the problems including a poverty, childcare expenses and a medical care which is actually not conducted
