The meaning of a blank space in the Korean painting is a formative language which has been trying to bring the nature of the universe to fruition formatively. Illuminating it in the tradition art, it is an idea of the universe which is able to accept magnification and comprehension, diversity and unity, and individuality and the whole all together. It is an conception of all and nothing, emptiness and fullness, and spirit and material. This is individuality and variety that the art education is trying to achieve, and it is connected with one\'s expression, different from others\', existing inside of it. Teaching children the meaning of the blank space that the Korean tradition art tried to actualize and represent not only furnishes the materials which are able to teach and have the growing children understand the right meaning of the blank space but also causes the new way of education based on the other tradition ideologies to develop and reorganize. The understanding of the blank space should be taught by relating it to activities of expression and appreciation, and its education should concentrate on activities to find various thoughts and a new initiative spirit which are able to infinitely develop in the world of one\'s inside.
