By using a sample from the Korean Education Longitudinal Study(KELS), this study was to investigate school effect, which explores school effect through procedural variables in middle schools.
The study was conducted by making a comparison of procedural variables, selected in consideration of education culture and school features of middle schools(44 schools), between the high score of students\' achievement and another school with low score.
The sampling was done with a number of 2,147 students, 865 teachers by classifying high school and low school of academic achievement. To define the school effects, I selected 5 latent variables(principal\'s leadership, teacher\'s procedural variables, student\'s procedural variables, cognitive outcome, affective outcome) and 18 observed variables.
The study took a procedure of classifying effective and ineffective school based on achievements, comparing the procedural variables between the high and low schools, understanding correlation and ultimately analyzing the differences causality. I used SPSS, LISREL program to analyze t-test, correlation and path.
The findings of the study will be a different causality between the procedural variables in high and low schools of students\' achievement.
