본 연구에서는 침구사 및 30수년전에는 동일한 법률하에 있으면서도, 시각장애인 종사자가 적은 유도정복사를 양성하는 대학교의 침구전공 및 유도정복기술전공 학생의 시각장애인침사에 대한 지식, 침치료 경험 등에 관해 조사, 비교 분석함으로써 학생들의 이미지를 밝히는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 침치료를 받은 경험자는 침구전공 학생 22명과 유도정복기술전공 학생 18명이었고, 이 중 시각장애인침사에게 치료를 받은 학생은 침구전공 학생 1명이었다. 가족이나 친구 중에 침치료를 받은 경험자는 침구전공 학생 50명과 유도정복기술전공 학생 57명이었다. 친척, 친구 중에 시각장애인이 있는 학생은 각각 9명, 14명이었다. \"치료시 시술자의 설명을 이해하지 못할 것 같은 불안을 느낀다\", \"침치료를 하기 위해서는 국가 자격이 필요하다\", 침치료를 하는 침사 중에는 눈이 불편한 침사도 있다\", \"시각장애인은 혼자서 침치료를 할 수 있다\", 시각장애인은 촉각이 뛰어나다\"의 설문에서는 침구전공 학생이, \"치료실내외의 청소가 완벽하여 전혀 지저분하지 않다\"에서는 유도정복기술전공 학생이 유의한 차이를 보여 비교적 많았으나, 나 항목에서는 차이를 볼 수 없었다. 침치료를 받은 경험이 적고 시각장애인 및 시각장애인침사에 대한 지식이 부족함으로, 침구치료에 직접 관련된 사항 뿐만 아니라 시각장애인침사에 관한 교육을 할 필요가 있다.
Public opinions on ability of visually-impared person as a acupuncturist were studied with questionnaire survey data obtained from 511 cases in Korea and Japan in 2000. These samples were obtained from people who had visited to oriental medicine clinics and people who had visited to a public institution : 255 Koreans and 256 Japanese respectibly. The number of Korean respondents consist of ; 207 persons who have experienced acupuncture (82 persons experienced services by visually-impared acupuncturists and 125 persons experienced services by sighted acupuncturists) and 48 persons who have never experienced acupuncture. Also, Japanese respondents consist of ; 197 persons who have experienced acupuncture (82 persons experienced services by visually-impared acupuncturists and 114 persons experienced services by sighted acupuncturists) and 59 persons who have never experienced acupuncture. From these samples, We obtained the result as following : In Korea, There is no difference of opinion on acupuncture between experienced acupuncture / inexperienced acupuncture. On the other hands, compared with experienced acupuncture, Japanese inexperienced acupuncture show less recognition of effect of acupuncture. And 83% of Koreans experienced from visually-impared acupuncturists reported that visually people are capable as acupuncturists. On the other hands, 63% of inexperienced from visually-impaired acupuncturists had the same answer. Thus, it seems that the difference in opinions on the visually-impaired people\'s ability as acupuncturists is due to experience of acupuncture by visually-impaired acupuncturists. And 81% of Japanese experienced from visually-impaired acupuncturists reported that visually-impaired people are capable as acupuncturists. On the other hands, 78% of inexperienced from visually-impaired acupuncturists had the same answer. The results did not show any difference in the opinions on visually-impaired people\'s ability as acupuncturists due to experience of acupuncture by visually-impaired acupuncturists.
