사회적 능력은 모든 생활 장면에서 적절한 사회적 기능을 사용하는 능력을 말한다. 학습장애아동은 습득하기 어려운 기능이다. 학습장애아동들은 교실에서 그리고 성인기에 문제의 원인이 될 수 있는 의사소통, 지시 따르기, 과제를 경청하고 완성하는데 문제를 가지고 있다. 그럼에도 이러한 기능들은 학습장애아동을 위한 개별화교육계획과 개별화 전환계획에서는 잘 나타나지 않고 있다. 이 논문의 목적은 학습장애아동의 특성과 사회적 능력 결함의 특성을 탐색하는데 있다. 사회적 능력 문제는 청소년기와 성인기에 이러한 기능의 정의, 학급 시사점, 복잡함과 교육과정에 대한 사회적 기능 훈련 부가의 중요성 논의를 통해 조사되었다.
Social competence is the ability to use the appropriate social skills in every aspect of life. Social skills at children with learning disabilities are a difficult skill to learning. These children have problem with communicating, following directions, listening and completing a task, which can cause problems in the classroom and in adulthood. These skills are rarely addressed on the individualized education plan(IEP) and individualized transition plan(ITP) for students with learning disabilities. The purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics of children with learning disabilities and social competence deficits. The difficulties of social competence are examined through literatures, classroom implications, complications in adolescence/adulthood and a discussion of the importance of adding social skills training to the curriculum.
