사회과 교육과정에서 강조하는 교육 목표의 달성도를 바르게 측정․평가하기 위해 서는 적절한 평가 도구가 마련되어야 한다. 왜냐하면 평가 도구의 개선은 교육 개선 과 밀접한 관련이 있기 때문이다. 따라서 사회과에서도 적절한 평가 도구의 개발 및 적용을 위한 많은 연구와 노력이 교육 현장과 연구 기관에서 꾸준히 계속되어 왔다. 개발된 평가 도구의 양호도 기준 을 산출하기 위하여는 선택형의 경우 문항 분석을 통한 관란도와 변별도를 산출하고 서답형 또는 수행평가의 경우에는 타당도와 신뢰도 계수를 산출하기 위해 KR-20, κ (카파)공식, oneway ANOVA 공식 등 여러 방법이 사용되어왔다. 그럼에도 불구하고 초등학교 사회과 교육의 전 과정에 선택, 투입되는 적절한 평가 도구의 양호도 기준 은 만족할 만한 수준에 이르지 못하고 있다. 그리고 사회과 교수-학습 구조의 개선 발전을 위하여는 적절한 평가 도구의 개발, 선택, 적용, 결과 해석 등 전과정에서 교 사의 역할이 무엇보다도 중요하며 이는 높은 교육적 식견에서만 가능한 것이다...
The purpose of the study was to survey teachers\' awareness of the quality of assessment tools for elementary school social studies. The subjects for the questionnaire were 475 elementary school teachers in Kyonggi and Inchon areas. Four criteria of validity, reliability, objectivity, and practicality were used as the measures that evaluate the quality of assessment tools for elementary school social studies. The questionnaire consists of 22 items in the four criteria, and the subjects\' responses were analyzed by Chi-square (χ2) test, according to their gender or teaching career. Chapter One stated the need and purpose of the study, and the scope and method of the study. Chapter Two reviewed theories about criteria for evaluating the quality of assessment tools and related researches, and presented some hypotheses. Chapter Three presented some interpretation about the teachers\' responses to the questionnaire, and tested the null hypothesis that teachers\' awareness of the quality of assessment tools will not make any difference by their gender or teaching career. Chapter Four made suggestions that (1) assessment tools satisfying the quality criteria should be developed, gone through on-site testing and generalized, and (2) further study should be done, using different subjects and methods.
