본 연구는 Anthony Browne의 그림책인 돼지책, 우리 엄마, 고릴라, 우리 아빠가 최고야 4권에 나타 난 어머니상과 아버지상을 분석하였다. 첫째, 돼지책에서 어머니와 아버지는 초반에는 부정적인 어머니와 아버지의 모습을 보여 수동적, 복종적, 권위적이고 거부적인 태도를 보이고 일방향적인 돌봄을 실천하고 있었다. 하지만 후반부에는 애정적이고 자율적이며 양방향적인 돌봄을 실천하는 긍정적인 어머니와 아버지의 모습이 되었다. 둘째, 우리 엄마와 우리 아빠가 최고야에서 어머니와 아버지는 늘 긍정적인 어머니와 아버지의 모습을 보였다. 셋째, 고릴라에서 아버지는 초반에는 무관심하고 부정적인 아버지의 모습을 보이다가 후반에는 애정적이고 자율적인 긍정적인 아버지가 되었다. 넷째, 네 권의 책에서 긍정적인 부모상을 가진 어머니와 아버지는 양성적인 특성을 가지고 있었으며 자녀와 가족의 지지를 받고 있어 만족하고 행복해하는 공통적인 특성을 보였다. 따라서 교사와 부모는 긍정적인 부모상이 담긴 그림책을 선정하여 유아의 긍정적인 부모상 확립에 도움을 줘야겠다.
This study analyzed the parents\' image, which was shown in 4 books such as Piggybook, My Mum, Gorilla, and My Dad. Those books are the best among Anthony Browne\'s picture books. First, the mother and father in Piggybook showed the negative mother-and-father image pertaining to the passive, obedient, authoritative, and negative attitude and practiced the unilateral care in the opening part. However, the positive mother-and-father image was indicated in the latter half, which means the mother and the father practice the affectionate, autonomous, and two-way care. Second, in My Mum and My Dad, the mother and father always showed the positive mother-and-father looks. Third, in Gorilla, the father showed the indifferent and negative image in the opening part but became the autonomous, affectionate, and positive father in the latter half. Fourth, in all the books we researched, the mother and father, who have positive parenting image, had heterosexual character and showed the common characteristic feeling such as satisfaction and happiness due to being supported by their children and family. Accordingly, teachers and parents will need to help their young children to establish positive parenting image by selecting picture books that contains the positive parenting image.
