This research is to anticipate the effects of the nature experience activities on intellectual disability
students’ social-emotional development. For this research, nature experience activity program was
constructed and applied to 4 students with intellectual disabilities for 18 sessions. To understand the
change of social-emotional development, we compared the before and after of the children’s socialemotional
development, using the rating scale of social-emotional development. The conclusion is as the
followings. First, after the nature experience activities, the students’ reliance on teacher lessened while
students’ interaction with their peers increased. Second, the students’ ability to control inner self,
emotional stability, and motivation to achieve were higher after the program; their curiosity increased also.
Ergo, nature experience activity program is showing a positive effect on intellectual disability students’
social-emotional development.
