This study discussed the metamorphic characteristic and storytelling of Lego. Children make stories even
before they begin to read. They create stories and do things related to stories from birth. Lego is the
most universal play tool with which children produce various different stories about the world. Lego is a
device that has the double effect of play and learning. As story makers, children tell made?up stories as
if they have really happened. The boundary between facts and fictions is not clear to children. Inside a
Lego assembly built with blocks are contained various stories of human lives. Lego play is itself an image
of life. It materializes fictional and ideological images in an orderly manner under given rules. It makes
characters, and forms the plot, structure and theme of a story. Materializing intangible worlds, Leg goes
beyond the limit of toys. In the era of information, Lego is becoming a living concrete object by
representing technical cyberspaces. The metamorphic characteristic of Lego supports the life. This is the
present status of 21st century Lego blocks.
