This study tried to examine the effects of small groups’ vegetable gardening on language expression of
children with development delay in integrated classes. The research subject is the three four-year-old
children with development delay who go to Y Day Care Center located in G, Jeonnam. A multiple
baseline across subject design was used for test design. The results of the study is as follow: First, small
groups’ vegetable gardening had the positive effect on increase of spontaneous language expression of
children with development delay. Second, small groups’ vegetable gardening had the positive effect on
increase of reactive language expression of children with development delay. Therefore, this study implies
that small groups’ vegetable gardening can be the effective educational activity to increase language
expression of children with development delay.
