Republic of Korea entered to the multicultural society by rapid growth of foreign
workers and immigrants by implementing industrial trainee system and accepting
international marriages in1990s. The introduction of different culture induced social
problems, and the government hasbeen trying to solve social issues regarding the
multicultural families in political way. Nowadays, policies for growing students from
the multicultural families are aiming for encouraging students of the multicultural
families to get public education, fostering creative and global human resources by
developing multicultural competence, reinforcing independence ability by inspiring
students to explore their career, and enhancing social capacity of multiculturalism for
students, teachers and parents. This study provides future blueprints of education
policy for the multicultural families by comparing the policy of 2010, which is based
on organized materials and theory, and the policy of 2013.
