이 연구는 전문대학 수업연한 다양화를 촉진하고 유아교육 당사자 간의 원활한 합의 도출 을 하기 위해 전문대학 유아교육과의 적정한 수업 연한을 검토하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이 러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 전문대학 유아교육과의 현황, 유치원 교사의 핵심역량 분석, 적 정 수업연한 분석 및 효율적 운영방안을 살펴 보았다. 연구 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 제도적 검토, 직업 사회의 변화와 외국 사례의 종합, 국내 전문대학 유아교육과의 현황 등을 고려할 때 전문대학 유아교육과의 수업 연한에 대한 조정이 필요하다. 둘째, 전문대학 3년제 졸업생의 유아 교사로서 핵심역량을 고 려했을 때 전문대학 유아교육과의 수업연한은 연장되어야 한다. 셋째, 이해 당사자의 수업연 한에 대한 의견을 고려했을 때 전문대학 유아교육과는 4년제로 전환하여야 한다. 넷째, 유아 교육과의 수업연한을 4년제로 운영하기 위해서는 교육과정 개발, 교사의 처우 개선, 교수확보 율 제고 등이 마련되어야 한다. 위의 연구결과를 바탕으로 후속 연구를 위한 연구 과제를 제안하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유 아교사의 핵심역량을 4년제 대학교의 졸업생과 비교하는 연구가 필요하다. 둘째, 보육교사 자 격과의 연관성을 연구할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 전문대학 유아교육과에서 특성화를 위해 운영할 독창적 교육과정에 대한 연구가 필요하다.
The purpose of this study was to suggest the years for graduation of early childhood education department in junior colleges based on core competencies of teachers. In order to accomplish the purpose of this study, following methodologies were adopted. 1) Review of the related literatures, statistical data, and previous studies concerning the years for graduation of early childhood education department and core capacities of teachers. 2) Interview with teachers and principals of kindergartens and professors of junior colleges majored in early childhood education. 3) Survey about the years for graduation of early childhood education department and core capacities of teachers. The subjects of survey was professors and college students of early childhood education department, and teachers and principals of kindergartens. Based on the analysis and discussion, the conclusions and further suggestions of this study are as follows: First, the years for graduation of early childhood education department in junior colleges should be adjusted based on institutional analysis, change of vocational society, foreign cases, and current conditions of early childhood education department in junior colleges. Second, the years for graduation of early childhood education department in junior colleges should be extended based on core capacities as kindergarten teachers of graduates of junior colleges. Third, the years for graduation of early childhood education department in junior colleges should be extended based on the results of survey. Fourth, In order to extend the years for graduation of early childhood education department in junior colleges, following matters should be considered: development of unique curriculum, employment of more professors, and improvement of rewards of kindergarten teachers.
