The purpose of this study was to analyze the amount of learner activityl, its effect on learning and its relation in physical education class of elementary school. Thirty six elemenraty school teachers and 6th grade students participated in the study. The task used in this study was the \' long jump like kangaroo\' . The amount of students activity, such as walking and running was measured by the pedometer attached by the sideline of the student\'s waist. The amount of learner activity and its effect on learning were analyzed by 3-way ANOVA. teacher\'s sex and career. learner\'s sex. The relathinship between amount of activity and learning effect was analyzed bby pearson\'s correlation.
Results of study were as the following:
1. The mount of learner activity
The number of steps observed during the class was higher in male students than female students. The averages of the number of steps were 55 steps/ min and 48 steps/min in male and remale students respevtively. For those teachers with teaching experiences of less than 11 years. female teachers made the students more active than male teachers during the class.
2.Learning effect on learners
Teachers with teaching experience of less than 6 years had higher learning effect than more experienced teachers.
3. Relationship between amount of activity and learning effect.
In terms of the relationship between the amount of learner activity and learning effect. the number of steps representing the amount of pearner activity was found to have a significant correlation with long jump record. whereas the learning effect measured by the differences in long jump record between pre-and post-test was not shown to be related.
