The purposes of this study were to analyze issues in execute elementary school phywical education performance assessments(ESPEPA), and to discuss the reformable prolposals. For the purposes, this study was designes by Mathison\'s(1988) triangulation. Therefore, methods are composed of questionnaires, in-depth interviews and data of application performance assessment in elementary school phywical education classes. Subjects of Questionnaires were 300 elemenraty school teachers(150 each of remale and male) in Pusan. In-depth interviews were one each of remale and made elementary teacher by typical case selection. The career of these teachers were each 11 years. Data of ESPEPA were application 3,4,5 and 6 grade by units. According to results, elementary school teachers were much recognized the worth of ESPEPA. but ironically, they were not understood about conceptions and techniques of ESPEPA. This is why they mainly used observation method among the 10 types of ESPEPA, and confused the observation method with the practival assessment. On the other hand, the failure of ESPEPA is due to poor educational environments like teacher\'s many odd works and overpopulated classes, too. Therefore ESPEPA will be not sure of success until enlarge to actual the apportynities of its training and better the educational environments.
