The purpose of this study were (1) to test the effectiveness of random practice and blocked practive in a field setting with young children, and (2) to test the potential effectiveness of transfer practice schedules and self transfer practice schedules.
The tasks consisted of forward roll on the long horse. The 76 sixth grade children were randomly assiged 4 group.
The results of this study are as follows:
1) The result of retention phase revealed that the performance of random practice group were significantly less effectiveness than transfer practice groups and self transfer practice groups.
3) The result of acquisition and retention phase revealed that the performance of transfer practice group and self transfer pratice group were significantly better effectiveness than random and bolcked practice group
Particulary, the potential for blocked - random transfer designs is worthy of further investigation and may provied for greater extension of random patterned practice into physical education programs for children.
