The purpose of this study was to develop blended Jigsaw model in social studies. The major research problems were suggested as follows. First, the study developed new Jigsaw model in social studies by integrating a problem solving model in social studies and an existing Jigsaw model. Second, the study developed blending principles by analyzing teaching and learning processes of new Jigsaw model in social studies. Third, the study developed a blended Jigsaw model in social studies based on the blending principles. Fourth, the study proved the developed model by formative evaluation. For formative evaluation, the study conducted a filed test on 30 students attending 6th grade in "B" Elementary school at Busan. The study used survey and focus group interview for data collection. The data were collected about problem solving skills and perceptions on the model. The data were used to identify the strenths and weaknesses of the model and improve it. The final blended Jigsaw model for social studies is the following steps. ① Subject selection(offline), ② Team construction(offline), ③ Solution plan(offline), ④ Individual
