This research was conducted to report a case study of ongoing project to make an exciting and joyful public school for students, teachers, administrators, and parents. The present Korean educational system cause a vicious circle of reducing the role of public education and expanding out-of-school private lesson. What they need to do in order to normalize our school is to make a school fun and learner-centered environment which is the basic principle of the 7th national education curriculum. To achieve this aim, the 「Making School Fun and Exciting」Project (hereinafter referred to 「SHIN.JUL.KO.MAN Project」), a collaborative project between a college(Korea University) and its affiliated middle school, has been launched. 「SHIN?JUL?KO?MAN Project」was designed to achieve three objectives. They were to build an exciting school learning environment for students, to enhance self-worth for teachers, and to make parents feel confident in school. The outline of the whole process of project development was introduced, including goals, basic directions, procedures, and the results of formative evaluation. It was also proposed the specific strategies for various ongoing programs such as instruction and learning. counseling and guidance, after-school programs, parent education, and student union activity. Finally, the implications of 「SHIN?JUL?KO?MAN Project」was discussed in terms of educational reform.
