The purpose of this research was to provide basic information for improving physical education. This was done by surveying and analyzing elementary school pupil\'s recognition for objectives of physical education. In order to attain these results, I have conducted an inquiry to the 1171 pupils in 6th grade of 17 schools from 4 provinces, The class is thaught by physical education specialists and classroom teachers. On the basis of analyzed results, the conclusions were drawn as follows; In the understanding of objectives of physical education class, the students from physical education specialists were affirmatively high in the part of physical strength promotion, improvement in the area of exercise, health promotion, understanding of sports and rules through physical class. ※ Key words : physical education specialists, classroom teacher, objectives
