무더운 6월 중순의 어느 날, 3교시 체육 수업 시간이다. 운동장에 초등학교 5학년 학생들이 가지런히 모여 준비체조를 하고 있다. 준비체조가 끝나자마자 선생님이 체육복에 모자를 쓰고 학생들 앞에서 인사를 받는다. 선생님은 오늘 할 수업에 대해 간단히 설명을 한다. 그리고 반을 두 팀으로 나누어 축구 경기를 시작한다. 학생들은 땀을 흘리며 축구 경기를 하고 선생님은 학생들 속에 섞여 심판을 보고 있다. 30여분의 시간이 흐르고 선생님은 게임이 끝났음을 알려주고 학생들은 정렬을 한다. 선생님은 학생들에게 ‘축구 경기가 재미있었니?’라고 묻고 학생들은 ‘네!’라고 대답한다. 선생님은 학생들에게 손을 씻고 교실로 들어가라고 한다(사례 1). 초등학교 운동장에서 전개된 체육 수업이다. 이정도면 매우 좋은 체육 수업이다. 단계에 맞게 수업을
So far, elementary physical education has been made, focusing on the integration of psychomotor and cognitive areas. Consequently, it is true that practice of affective areas has been marginalized to some extent. However, elementary education for the future should move toward integration, in order to realize whole person education in which physical strength, knowledge and virtue are in harmony, and along with psychomotor and cognitive goals, affective goal must be achieved. To this end, narrative integration method is proposed, which is an approach to put into practice integration education integrating these three areas, and thereby to achieve the goals of elementary physical education in an integrated way, through narrative activities as well as physical activities. Therefore, this study discusses the reason why such a narrative approach is necessary for elementary physical education at a theoretic level, which is expected to serve as a basis and background for the practice of narrative physical education at schools. ※ Key words : whole person education, integrated elementary physical education, narrative approach
