The purpose of this study is to determine the job stress driven from irrational beliefs
and perceived career barriers of community college students and to verify the effects of
moderating self esteem. A quantitative survey was conducted among students enrolled in
college for this purpose. The findings indicated irrational beliefs, perceived career barriers
and career identity statistically influential to job stress, while self esteem only being
significant in relation to job stress and career barriers. Based on these results, a practical
guidance is suggested to reduce irrational beliefs, perceived career barriers and career
stress of community college Students while enhancing their career identity and self
esteem.
