Disenchantment with traditional intelligence test has prompted an examination of alternative assessment procedures that accurately and adequately measure children\'s intellectual assessment procedures that accuretely and adequately measure children\'s intellectual ability. In view of this important concern over better assessment approaches, the present paper examin the effectiveness of dynamic assessment. First, the limitation of traditional intelligence test and the necessity of dynamic assessment are presented. Second, three approaches to the dynamic assessment of intelligence are reveiwed and thier critical features are identified. Third, the comparison of three approaches is conducted. Finally, suggestions are made regarding future research using dynamic assessment and the potential usage of dynamic methods in the special educaion fiedl.
