제7차 교육과정은 국민공통기본 교육과정과 선택중심 교육과정 체제로 구성되어 있으며, 수준별 교육과정을 그 주요한 특징으로 삼고 있다. 수준별 교육과정은 학생의 흥미, 관심, 학습능력, 적성 등의 개인차를 고려하여 학생들마다 알맞은 교육기회를 제공하고자 도입되었다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the patterns and levels of the implementation of mathematics curriculum in the elementary schools. The method of this study was to have the depth-interviews for the 20 teachers in the elementary schools and analyse the data. The results of this study can be summarized as follows：1) the patterns of the implementation of mathematics curriculum in the elementary schools came out as those of centering around textbook, lower achievers, extra support courses. 2) the implementation levels of mathematics curriculum in the elementary schools was turned out to be under third level in most of all areas.
