The purpose of this study was to examine the possibility that internet-based collaborative learning would be applicable to elementary schools which located in different cities. To achieve the purpose, case study was conducted for one week during winter vacation with 41 5～6th grades students from three different schools in Seoul, Pusan, and Kwangju. The results showed that the possibility of applying internet-based collaborative learning to elementary schools was high in general. However several problems, in terms of netiquettte in cyberspace, the role and number of learning team, information literacy and writing ability in on-line communication, clarification of teacher\'s role and intervention, were found. If internet-based collaborative learning would be implemented successfully to current elementary schools, those problems need to be solved with careful considerations based on specific situations of schools. Suggestions were provided in terms of providing of support system of administration, curriculum integrated internet use, encouraging students\' active participation and attitude, training student\'s with skills of internet, computer, and information literacy, encouraging teacher-centered action research on internet use.
