장애인 등에 대한 특수교육법의 시행에 따라 특수교육지원센터는 특수교육대상자의 진단․평가에 있어서 핵심기관이 되었다. 따라서 학습장애의 진단에 있어서도 특수교육지원센터가 수행해야할 역할이 매우 강화되었지만, 아직까지 각 일선 특수교육지원센터에서는 학습장애를 진단하기 위해서 효율적인 방안을 마련하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 학습장애를 진단하는 데에 있어서 특수교육지원센터의 효율적인 운영방안을 탐색해 보았다. 이를 위해 먼저 특수교육법에 제시된 특수교육지원센터와 장애 진단 및 선별에 대한 법적 근거에 따른 특수교육지원센터의 역할 모형을 알아보고, 이에 따라 특수교육지원센터에서 수행해야할 학습장애 판별 및 진단평가 절차와 방법에 대해서 구체적으로 제시하였다. 마지막으로 특수교육지원센터에서 학습장애 판별 및 진단을 실시할 때 함께 고려해야할 일부 사항들을 제언하였다.
The purpose of the present study was to investigate the role of Special Education Support Center for the systematic procedure in diagnosis of Learning Disabilities. Upon the research purpose, “Special Education Law for the Individuals with Disabilities” for the legal requirements of Special Education Support Center was carefully reviewed. Then, the prospective procedures of diagnosis of Learning Disabilities in Special Education Support Center were presented. Finally, implications and future directions for diagnosis and identification on learning disabilities in Special Education Support Center were discussed.
