The purpose of this study was to examine the state of the social contribution activities of public corporations and factors affecting the satisfaction level of participants in social contribution activities in an effort to help improve the satisfaction level of people taking part in corporate social contribution activities. Companies have conducted social contribution activities in a move to fulfill social obligation and ensure moral management. The subjects in this study were 190 employees who were selected from H corporation, one of major public corporations in our country, in consideration of service area, duties and position. After a survey was implemented, the answer sheets from 162 respondents (response rate 85.%) were encoded, and error checking was carried out. And then SPSS 14.0.2 K package was utilized to make a statistical analysis of the collected data. Five interpersonal factors and three work- related factors were selected as independent variables, and satisfaction level was selected as a dependent variable. Two factors linked to the will of participants were selected as parameters. After hypotheses were formulated in association with the selected variables, the significance of the hypotheses were investigated.
The findings of the study were as follows:
Out of the five interpersonal factors, the factors related to the relationship with people in charge of social contribution activities, supervisors and those in charge of welfare centers had no significant impact on the satisfaction level of the participants. Overall, however, the interpersonal factors made a significant difference to their satisfaction level. In the event of the three work-related factors, internal evaluation and compensation system exerted no significant influence. Overall, however, the work-related factors made a significant difference to that as well. Specifically, the self-achievement needs and workload of the participants, which were linked to the will of the participants, turned out to have a great impact on their satisfaction level with social contribution activities.
