본 연구는 전국의 12개 음악영재 교육기관에서 수학 중인 학생 202명을 대상으로 자신의 환경에 관한 인식을 조사하고, 또 배경변인에 따른 하위집단별 인식의 차이를 연구하였다. 본 연구의 배경변인별 하위집단은 진공·음악교육 시작 연령·전공훈련 시작연령·연습시간에 따라 구분되었다. 연구의 결과는 학생들이 교사의 후원, 그리고 가족의 물질적·정신적 후원에 관하여 긍정적으로 인식하는 반면에, 가족으로부터 직접적인 음악적 도움이나 음악의 사회적 기회에 관하여서는 그렇지 않다는 것을 보여주었다. 하위집단별 분산분석 결과는 학생들의 음악교육 시작 연령·전문적 훈련 시작 연령·전공·연습시간과 같은 요소들이 학생들의 환경 인식에 영향을 끼침을 나타냈다. 또한 음악영재를 위한 사회적 기회가 체계적으로 더 확대될 필요가 있음을 시사하였다.
This study investigated the perceived environments and perception differences between subgroups of 202 musically talented students enrolled in 12 public institutes for the musically gifted and talented in Korea The subgroups are divided based on the variables of major instruments, initial age of music education, initial age of professional training, and practice time per day. It was found that the students showed positive perception about the economical and emotional support from their families and musical and emotional help from their teachers. However, they did not have positive perception about direct musical help from their families and social chances such as music camp and master classes. The ANOVA analysis of the subgroups suggested that the variables of age, major instrument, the initial age of music education, the initial age of professional training and practice time had influences on their environmental perceptions. Findings of this study also have implication that the social chances for the musically talented need to be expanded.
