The purpose of this study is to analyze the various formative values about the concept of the space interpretation
of the idea of naught of traditional art. This concept is compared with the concept of the virtual
space concept from Jean Baudillard; the two concept are implicated for the development of creative optical
expression. Students living In the contemporary period struggle understanding the concept of 'relativity' and
'duplicity deactivation' in the idea of naught. Therefore if the study is suggested by the concept of 'virtual
reality' and 'simulacre', students could understand more easily. Considering the contemporary cultural context,
the multi-dimensional study on the various meanings of traditional paintings is very essential. This
study attempts to bring an increase of attention on the fact that in the traditional space concept, there is
more emphasis on the various meanings of the concept of 'negative space' in traditional paintings. This
research has the implications for traditional art education that broadens our understanding of the concept
of 'virtual space' in Ink wash paintings. This is included in the idea of naught, by revisiting its ideological
and aesthetic significances in traditional art.
