This thesis intended to review how the integrated art education program has
an effect upon an early child's self consciousness and creative art expression. The
program developed in this study is the one in which early children listen to
music, listen to a fairy tale of story-telling style, and express their ideas and
feelings with body, language and art, and it has its objective to suggest the
development potential of more diverse early child education programs in future
through the combination of infant's art activities and music listening. For this
analysis, we divided the class into experimental and comparison group targeting 20
infants of mixed class aged 4~5 of K Kindergarten located in Eastern Ward of
Daejeon City and practiced a test on early children's self consciousness and
creative art expression.
The influences of integrated art education program upon early children's self
consciousness showed a meaningful difference statistically. The program gave an
effect on an infant's cognitive self, the extent of a person's perception and the
ability to control his or her own feeling or emotion. The overall art expression
attitude marked 2.42 points in the pre-test but marked 3.19 points after the
integrated art education program activities. The activities have considerable effects
upon an infant's art expression attitude positively.
Therefore, it is necessary to develop the integrated program grafted to diverse
activities so that it may give an assistance to the infant's self consciousness and
creative art expression and inspire its motivation. For this purpose, we need a
continuous research and concern related to this, and it is necessary to verify the
effects targeting not only general children but also handicapped children.
