This paper aims to reinterpret Jacques Derrida’s philosophy, especially his political and social philosophy. Derrida has always suffered from criticisms ranging from the beginning to the end of his life, such as nihilism, relativism, and skepticism, which is summed up in the phrase Derrida, the representative of postmodernism. He, however, has strongly denied that he is a postmodernist, and even when considering the internal logic of his philosophy, these criticisms are not justified. We believe that if we understand the Derrida’s philosophy from the perspective of the quasi-transcendentalism, we can gain a more coherent and more positive understanding of his thinking. The concept of quasi-transcendentalism shows that Derrida’s deconstruction is part of a transcendental philosophy that started from Kant, and is developing the problematic more radically. But the quasi-transcendentalism, instead of setting up a permanent hierarchy between the transcendental and the empirical, sets the co-conditional relationship between the two. Consequently the transcendental is radically historicized. This gives a better explanation for the reasons why he poses the problems of reason and justice from the perspective of aporia.
