The purpose of this study was to examine the factors influencing secondary traumatic stress of counselors working in women emergency call 1366 who counsel and intervene female violence victims. The study conducted a survey of 220 counselors working on women emergency call 1366 from April 1 to April 21, 2017. The result of this study, it showed that the factor affecting secondary traumatic stress of counselors working on women emergency call 1366 was ego resiliency. In addition, ego resiliency affected avoidance and awakening of sub-variables of secondary traumatic stress. Based on these results, it was found that ego resiliency of counselors working on women emergency call 1366 is an important variable on the secondary traumatic stress. In order to improve ego resiliency, there is a need for research on multiple aspects and appropriate management strategies considering various predictive factors that affect ego resiliency.
